So you want to achieve more than you have?

What does achievement mean for you?

For some achieving means having others view them as successful; for some achieving means to do something they have longed to do regardless what others may think.

A dictionary definition of achievement says “to accomplish something, especially by great effort or great courage”

Are you someone who has given up on your dreams because people have told you it can’t be done?

Are you someone who is looking to change something in your life but is too afraid of what others might think or say to get started?

So what do you want to achieve?

  •  Get a new job?
  • Run a marathon?
  • Win a competition?
  • Return to work after having children?
  • Get through the day?
  • Write a book?
  • Become a public speaker?
  • Make a successful presentation tomorrow at work?
  • Get a promotion

These are all achievements. What to some may appear trivial, to others can be like climbing a mountain.

Whatever we want to achieve one thing is certain, if we let what others think hold us back; if we never get started for fear of what someone might say then we will doom ourselves to a life of misery and regret.

Whatever it is you want to achieve, it is possible. Sometimes we need a helping hand. Sometimes we can manage on our own. It really does not matter how we succeed. The important thing is to get started; to give it a go...who knows you might just do it! How would that be?

How would it be for you if you were to take that first tentative step and go on to achieve something that you have wanted to do for years?

How would you feel to know you have done it?
